Approving Leave Requests
Once leave approvals are set up in JobBag, leave approval managers and Payroll Administrators can receive approval requests, review leave balances, check who else is on leave and approve leave.
Access leave approvals
Leave approvals are accessed via the desktop application
Managers
Navigate to: JobBag menu > Approve Leave
Payroll Administrators
Navigate to: Payroll menu > Step1: Reconcile/approve Leave
Approve Leave in JobBag
You can approve leave without sending a leave approved email back to the employee.
If you have subscribed to leave notifications, employees will receive a notification that their leave has been approved when they next log into JobBag.
Email when approving leave
- Tick "Email when approved" (Bottom Left corner) before approving leave
Note: Your email settings will need to be configured before you can use this email feature.
Review who else has leave
Avoid conflicts and review who else has leave.
- Tick and include unapproved and Approved leave
- Enter the date range to view leave requests during a specific period (optional)
Forward Approval Email to Payroll Administrator
When a leave request is submitted, managers will receive an approval email.
They can review the details in the email and forward that email approving or declining the request to the payroll administrator.

Subscribe to Notifications
Turn on on notifications to notify managers when leave needs approving and notify employees when leave has been approved.
Managers
Navigate to: Stats menu > Notifications > settings icon > New
Payroll Administrators
Navigate to: File menu > Configuration > Notifications
✅ Tip: Using email approvals is faster, reduces paperwork, and helps streamline communication between managers and payroll.
