How to Add a Client in JobBag

Use this process to create a new client record in JobBag, either as a business or an individual.


Step 1: Start a New Address Book Entry

  1. Navigate to: JobBag Menu > Address Book > New

    Select Business or Individual:

    • Business: A company or corporate entity
    • Individual: Sole trader, employee, or individual contact
  2. Select Address Book Entry Type > Client
  3. Enter the company name and address (for business) or individual name and address (for individual clients)

Step 2: Complete Client Information

Field Name Description
Country of Origin The country in which your client resides
Display Name The name you want displayed in JobBag
Code Auto-generated by JobBag; can be manually changed
Related Party Tick if the client is a related party as defined by accounting policy. Used for reporting sales to related parties
Bank Account Optional client bank account information. Used for refunds if required

Details Section – Business Contact Information

Field Name Description
Parent Company Link this client to a group head office. Enables group reporting and setting charge-out rates for the group
Keywords Additional classification to help search and report on selected groups of clients
Notes Enter any special notes or instructions about the client
Default Account Default account used for processing client receipts

Client Record – Client Section

Field Name Description
Division Defaults to the current division, can be changed if multiple divisions exist
Arena Allows grouping by sector or brand for reporting
Job Prefix Auto-generated based on client name; can be manually changed
Payment Number of days for client payment. Can be from invoice date or end of month
Email Quotes To Specify recipients for client quotes
Email Invoices To Specify recipients for client invoices
Allowed Kinds Limit the types of kinds usable for this client’s estimates or invoices
Account Executive Assign an employee as account executive
Account Director Assign an employee as account director
Service Fee Optional service fee applied to client estimates and invoices
Credit Limit Set a credit limit for the client
Terms Set trading terms for the client
Allowed Job Types Limit the types of jobs assignable to this client

Step 3: Save the Client Record

  • Create and Add a Contact: Saves the client record and opens a window to add client contacts immediately.
  • Create:  Saves the client record. Client contacts can be added later.
