Master and Sub Jobs in JobBag

Master Jobs allow you to manage and track complex projects by grouping related sub jobs together under a single umbrella. This feature supports flexible budgeting, billing, and project tracking across multiple job types.

How to Access Master and Sub Jobs

You can access and create Master and Sub Jobs in the desktop application.

๐Ÿ’ป Desktop: Navigate to: JobBag menu > Jobs > New Job

What You Can Do with Master Jobs

  • ๐Ÿ“Š View and manage the entire project as a whole
  • ๐Ÿ’ฐ Track and allocate budgets across sub jobs
  • ๐Ÿงพ Estimate and bill clients by individual sub jobs or the entire project
  • ๐Ÿงฑ Break down a large project into smaller, manageable segments

How to Create a Master Job with Sub Jobs

  1. Create a new job to act as the Master
  2. Right-click on the job and select Create Sub Job
  3. Add the necessary sub job details and change the job number to be the same as the master but add and letter at the end (A,B,C)

  1. Go to the Estimates tab on the Master job and click the green plus sign
  2. Select the sub job
  3. Add kinds and cost for selected sub job
  4. Repeat Steps 2 + 3 for each sub job
  5. Once each sub job has been costed
  6. Review and save the estimate

Steps: Estimating from Master Job

  1. Go to the Estimates tab in the Master Job and click the green plus sign
  2. Click Load Tasks to generate the estimate
  3. Choose to include all Task/sub tasks
  4. This will create one estimate for the project
  5. Review and save the estimate

๐Ÿงฉ Tip: Use planning templates if your sub jobs follow a repeatable pattern (e.g., multi-location rollouts).
