Create a Task
Tasks in JobBag represent specific activities that need to be completed - ranging from simple admin to large project milestones. Tasks can be:
- Assigned to individuals, Departments or Roles
- Budgeted with specific hours
- Scheduled with start and due dates
Timesheets are logged against these tasks to help track time, workload, and budgets.
How to access Tasks
You can access and create a Task in using either a web browser or via the desktop application.
π Web Browser
Open your preferred browser
Enter or paste your database URL (e.g.):
https://yourdatabasename.myjobbag.com.au
At the login screen, enter:
- Username
- Password
- Navigate to:
The side bar > Task and Timesheet > Create Button (top left)
π» Desktop
If youβre using the desktop version of JobBag there are two options:
- Navigate to:
JobBag menu > Active Diary (JBX)
- Navigate to:
JobBag menu > Jobs > Planning Tab
Creating a Task
You can create events in JobBag from the Calendar View or Task List View
1. Using the Create Button
- Click Create Button > Select Task
- Fill in the event details and click Save
Creating Tasks from the Job (Desktop)
In addition to using the Create button from the Tasks & Timesheets feature, you can also create task directly from a specific job.
In the Desktop Version navigate to the Jobs Window: JobBag menu > Jobs > Planning Tab > Add New Task
This is will open the task window
Task Features
Task are flexible and highly configurable. Depending on your setup, you can:
- Create sub tasks
- Assign to multiple people, teams, departments or specific roles
- Use for timesheet entry
- Track timesheet against task budgets
- Grab and drag to move task within the same day or to another day
- Have multiple task statuses to improve workflow

π Can I break task hours into small tasks?
Yes. Sub tasks can be added. Use the ellipsis menu ( β― ) on the task and select add sub tasks.

π How do I create a timesheet from a task?
There are two options:
- Click on the timesheet icon displayed on the tasks
- Use the ellipsis menu ( β― ) on the task to and select add Timesheets.
