Creating a Diary Event


Diary events in JobBag are used to schedule internal or external meetings, set reminders, and log key dates linked to specific jobs or people. These events streamline communication, planning, and time tracking across your team.

Common uses include:

  • Recurring internal WIP meetings
  • External client meetings
  • Annual or personal leave
  • Project deadlines and milestones
  • Birthdays or team events
  • Talent contract rollovers

Diary events can trigger timesheet entries, send reminders, and sync with external calendars like Outlook or Google Calendar.


How to access Events

You can access and create an Event using either a web browser or via the desktop application.

🌐 Web Browser

  1. Open your preferred browser

    Enter or paste your database URL (e.g.): https://yourdatabasename.myjobbag.com.au

    At the login screen, enter:

    • Username
    • Password
  2. Navigate to: The side bar > Task and Timesheet > Create Button (top left)

If you’re using the desktop version of JobBag:

  • Navigate to: JobBag menu > Active Diary (JBX) > Create Button (Top Left)
  • Navigate to: JobBag menu > Jobs > Diary Tab > New

Creating Diary Events

You can create events in JBX from the Calendar View or Task List View

1. Using the Create Button

  • Click Create Button > Select Event
  • Fill in the event details and click Save


Creating Diary Events from the Job (Desktop)

In addition to using the Create button from the Tasks & Timesheets feature, you can also create a diary event directly from a specific job.

In the Desktop Version navigate to the Jobs Window: JobBag menu > Jobs > Diary Tab > New

This is will open the event window.

This method allows you to link events directly to a job, ensuring accurate tracking and context for meetings, reminders, and key dates. It's especially useful for job-specific planning such as WIP meetings, deadlines, or client calls.


Event Features

Diary events are flexible and highly configurable. Depending on your setup, you can:

  • Add multiple participants (internal or external)
  • Enable alerts and reminders for upcoming meetings
  • Sync to external calendars (Outlook, Google Calendar)
  • Link events to specific jobs or clients
  • Use events for timesheet entries
  • Grab and drag to move events within the same day or to another day

Yes. Use the β‹― menu on the event and select Forward.

Use the β‹― menu on the event to perform any of these actions.

Yes. Add external names or email addresses in the Invitee field when creating the event.

πŸ“† Will the event show in their external calendars?

Yes. Events will sync with external calendars such as Outlook or Google Calendar.

❌ I can’t invite others to an event

Ensure the event type allows multiple invitees by enabling "Allow Inviting Multiple People" in settings.

This is configured in the Event Type Settings using the Address Book and Job Field options.
