Creating a Timesheet in the Desktop

In JobBag, timesheets can be created from both the desktop app and web browser (JBX), with or without a task. They’re used by employees and freelancers to track time spent on billable and non-billable jobs. Logging time daily or weekly improves project tracking and overall time management.


💻 Desktop Application – 4 Ways to Create Timesheets


Option 1. Active Diary

Navigate to: JobBag menu > Active Diary

  • Right-click in calendar to

➤ Create a timesheet without a task

➤ Create a timesheet with a task

Other methods in the active diary include...

  • Right-click on a task in the task list to create a timesheet
  • Grab & Drop a task into the calendar
  • Drag in the calendar from a start time to an end time to record hours

Option 2: Active Diary (JBX)

Navigate to: JobBag menu > Active Diary (JBX)

Options available:

➤ Use the Create button to make a timesheet (Calendar or List view)

➤ Click the 🕒 Timesheet icon next to a task to log time directly against it

  • Found throughout the active diary (JBX) in areas like:
    • Calendar view
    • Task Lists view
    • My Active Tasks
    • My Past Tasks
    • Click the icon to start a timesheet against a specific task

Option 3 From the Job Window

  • Right-click on a job and choose to create a timesheet
  • This allows you to log time directly to the job (with or without a task)

Option 4: Timesheet Tab on the job

  • Click on Timesheet tab
  • Select new

Option 5: Timesheets by hour

  • Navigate: Costings menu > Timesheets by the hour

🔍 Search Options When Creating a Timesheet

When entering a job in the Job field of a timesheet, you can search using any of the following:
  • Full Job Number – e.g. CLTD12563
  • Client Prefix only – e.g. CLTD
  • Job Numbers Only – e.g. 12563
  • Job Description – e.g. Brand design
This flexible search helps you find the right job quickly, even if you only know part of the job details.
