Creating a Client Invoice Credit Note

This process allows you to raise a credit note for the full amount of a client invoice directly from a job in JobBag.

Note: Some steps may require an admin or finance user to complete.


Step 1: Access the Client Invoice

Option 1: From the Supplier Invoice tab in the Jobs Window

  1. Navigate toJobBag menu > Jobs
  2. Find Job
  3. Client Invoice tab
  4. Open Invoice
  5. Select the Credit button

Option 2: From Costings – Supplier Invoice Menu

  1. Navigate toCosting menu > Invoices and Credit notes
  2. Find Client Invoice
  3. Select the Credit invoice (thumbs down) button

Step 2: Update the Credit Note

  • The Create New Credit Note window will open
  • Update the following fields:
  • Date
  • Description

Important:

  • No need to update job numbers, kinds, or amounts
  • Reversed amounts, job numbers, and kinds mirror the original invoice

Step 3: Log the Credit Note

This step may require an admin/finance user

  1. Select the credit note you want to log (ensure it is ticked)
  2. Finalise the date and period (you can make changes if required)
  3. Click OK
  4. Confirm by selecting Yes

Step 4: Create Receipt Journal to Offset Credit Note

This step offsets the credit note against the original invoice and must be done by an admin/finance user

  1. Navigate to: Accounts > Receipt Journals
  2. Create a receipt journal linking the credit note to the original invoice
