Adjusting Power Management
Power Management Settings on Windows for JobBag
JobBag is a desktop application that connects to the database over the internet. It is sensitive to power management settings and network latency. To prevent unexpected disconnects or application exits, follow these steps to configure Windows and JobBag settings correctly.
1. Network Adapter Settings
Power-saving features on network adapters can interrupt JobBag’s connection.
Steps:
- Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
- Expand Network Adapters.
- Right-click your network adapter and select Properties.
- Go to the Power Management tab.
- Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
2. Power & Sleep Settings
Windows sleep settings can also interfere with JobBag.
Steps:
- Open the Windows search bar, type Power & sleep settings, and open it.
- Set Sleep to Never.
- Click Additional power settings → Change plan settings → Change advanced power settings.
- Adjust settings as needed. Some may require trial and error depending on your system.
3. JobBag Settings
Ensure JobBag does not attempt automatic reconnects or shutdowns.
A. Disable Reconnect:
- Open JobBag → File → Preferences → JobBag Config.
- Under Global Settings, turn off Attempt reconnect.
B. Disable Inactivity Timeout:
- Open JobBag → File → Preferences → User Preferences.
- Enter your password.
- Ensure Shutdown after inactivity is turned off.
