Staff Deductions from Payroll Process
Overview
This process should be used when:
- The company has purchased items on behalf of staff and need to be reimbursed, examples would be when the company pays for tickets to awards/industry nights in advance and wants staff to pay for the ticket or make a contribution towards the ticket.
- Staff has used their company credit card for a personal expense and need to reimburse the company
Before you start
Ensure that the correct After Tax Deductions kinds and Staff Deductions items been set up and mapped.

The Process
In this example the company has paid for tickets to the annual industry awards nights in advance and want staff to pay for or make a contribution towards those tickets.
When the tickets are paid for by the company, presumable this expense is coded to the PL or a balance sheet account.
Staff attending the event will have a staff deduction for the agreed amount added to their next payslips.
The staff deductions will appear in the balance sheet as a credit and should be used to offset the cost paid by the company.
Add STAFFDED - Staff Deductions item to the payslip
Save, approve and pay the payslips
This is what the payslip should look like after it is saved and approved.
